Bill Tackett
Bill Tackett has been employed by Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group (OMAG) for many years, serving as Director of Special Projects in 2013, then moving on to Director of Risk Management and is currently serving as Director of Strategic Initiatives & Partnerships. Prior to coming to OMAG he served the cities of Jacksonville, TX, Okmulgee, OK, Shawnee, OK and Woodward, OK in various capacities.
He was awarded the Association of Governmental Risk Pools Award of Excellence in Service by the Association of Governmental Risk Pools which recognizes an individual who notably promotes and enhances the field of pooling through contributions of special merit and benefit.
Tackett served his communities in various capacities throughout the years: President and Regional Lt. Governor of the Prague Kiwanis Club; member of the Prague Zoning & Planning Commission; member of the Woodward Regional Hospital Board of Directors; Subcommittee Chairman of the City of Shawnee Certified Cities Committee; Board of Trustees of Shawnee Mabee-Gerrer Museum of Art; and a member of the Creek Council House Museum Board of Trustees in Okmulgee.
Tackett is a past member and past president of the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Public Personnel Association and has for years been on the board of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame for City and Town Officials Foundation where he currently serves as the foundation chairman.
He is the epitome of a public servant and his career and volunteerism is proof of his dedication to public entities. Most recently he has been assisting municipalities with natural gas distribution systems in forming an Interlocal so these cities can have more buying power to purchase gas and negotiate fair contracts as a coalition versus individually.
Tackett holds a master’s degree from the Oklahoma State University and is quickly identified by all that meet him as a man of character who is a “mover and shaker” for the best and noble achievements in local government. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends and is very active in his church.
