Dan Galloway
Dan served his first three years of municipal government as City Manager of Owasso and then went on to serve as the City Manager for Clinton, Bethany, Stillwater, and El Reno before retiring after a more than 30 yr. career.
He is the recipient of the 2012 Gerald Wilkins Award (City Manager of the Year Award) given by the City Management Association of Oklahoma. Recipients of this award are credited with strengthening the city manager form of government through their stable length of service to cities; dedication to civic activities; and participation in, and contribution to, CMAO; and commitment to the ICMA Code of Ethics.
Dan has an extensive list of involvement in various organizations, local, county, and statewide, that relate to his career choices such as the City Management Association of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Municipal League, and the Oklahoma Municipal Assurance Group. These organizations aid both local government and communities in working together to address the needs of each community.
In 2013 he was appointed by the governor to serve on the OK Water 2060 Advisory Council. Dan also served on the Bethany/Warr Acres Public Works Authority Board, the OK Tech & Research Park Board, and the OK Municipal Services Corporation Board.
He has been a lecturer/presenter for the OML Conference, the National Water Quality Conference, as well as university grad classes, the US Army Corps of Engineers training, and the National Science Foundation.
Dan published “The Challenge of the Upper Mississippi River”, a Water Quality Bulletin.
Prior to his start in municipal government, he spent more than five years with the Upper Mississippi River Basin Commission and the US Army Corps of Engineers, which both provided him with an experience foundation that would prove very beneficial once he entered the municipal arena.
