Bob Ponkilla
Bob served in the treasury department for the City of Oklahoma City for more than 20 years, retiring in 2019 after serving as the City Treasurer for 12 years and was recognized as the 2017 OMCTFOA Member of the Year by the Oklahoma Municipal Clerks, Treasurers & Finance Officials Association. He also served as president of the APTUS&C, on both the national and state levels, in addition to serving on the board of the OMCTFOA and the Municipal Clerks & Treasurers (MC&T) Education Committee.
In 2012 he was recognized with the Oklahoma City Convention & Visitors Bureau (OKC-CVB) Hometown Hero award for playing a vital role in bringing the Association of Public Treasurers, United States & Canada (APTUS&C) annual conference to Oklahoma City.
Bob was instrumental in helping with the passage of House Bill 1875, which benefitted every municipality in the state. And he served as an Adviser for the oversight of the Seminole Nation Business Operations. And he helped establish the employee health plan, negotiated tax fine settlements for the tribe, saving millions of dollars, negotiated settlements with the National Gaming Association and restructured business operations and reestablished an annual audit of tribal finances.
